I have been playing keyboards / synths / pianos since I was about 16 years old. I’ve played in bands, and very nearly made it, and have bought and sold more instruments over the years, including bass guitars, than I care to remember. I have always used Roland pianos and synths until about 3 years ago when I compared a couple of Roland digital pianos to some Yamaha ones and was surprised by just how good the Yamaha ones were! Subsequently, I ended up with a Yamaha digital piano and was perfectly happy with it until Roland introduced the new Jupiter 80! Based around the old Jupiter 8, made famous by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, this is an awesome piece of synth wizardry! A second hand Jupiter 8 retails for, if you can find one, around £12,000! A Jupiter 80 costs a fraction of that!! So, tomorrow, I am going to contact the music store that I deal with and see what they will give me as a part exchange on my digital piano against one of their shiny, new Jupiter 80’s!! Wish me luck!!
