As promised yesterday, here is a little update on the film Top Gun: Maverick. Now, there is no spoilers in this, so you can read this without worry. Whilst I thought that it was an excellent film, something happens during the film, that just wouldn’t happen in real life, and it completely demeans the film in my opinion. The photography, locations and all the aerial sequences were absolutely stunning but, man, that thing that happens, just turns the whole thing into just another Hollywood film! That’s all I’m going to say on the matter but I would now like to address something else: Why do cinemas insist on selling food?!! Can’t people just go to the cinema and watch a film? Why do they need to also have their dinner there? There were 29 of us sat in the cinema when this huge goon of a guy came in and sat in the seat directly behind me. For about 5 seconds, everything was fine and then he got his mammoth bag of sweets out and promptly spent the next 15 minutes rustling and chomping his way through the bag! I don’t know how long it lasted because we moved to some seats much further away, so that we couldn’t hear him guzzling his food! Why? Why do that?!! Why don’t cinemas empty the food packets into those gigantic cups that they use to put half a tonne of sweets into, so that people can’t make a noise? Or, as I said earlier, Why don’t they just not sell food?!! I’m sure people can go 2 hours without eating!! If it’s not people on their phones, it’s people slurping drinks or rustling and shovelling food into their mouths! Stop it!!
