Hi!
There was me saying that I was going to scale back my writing a bit and only post content 3 times a week and then I don’t post anything for 8 days! How the cluck did that happen?!! Time just seems to slip away and, before you know it, a whole week has gone by!
Been quite a busy week workwise, sadly, we are still losing too many people and the funeral industry keeps getting busier by the day. We hate being busy in this industry because, for every deceased that we have in, there is a grieving family on the end of it all, and that’s not fair! I am quite lucky though because I only work part-time and, where I work, I am 1 of 8 bearers but, with every funeral, there are only 6 slots, so sometimes I get chosen and sometimes I don’t! This week, I didn’t get chosen for work on either Tuesday or Wednesday (I’d booked Wednesday off), so I got to spend 2 whole days with my gorgeous wife, which is always a bonus, for me at least!! Late Wednesday evening, I developed quite a nasty abscess in my mouth and ended up spending the night on the couch with a hot water bottle on my face to ease the pain. The following day I was at the dentist and have now had the 2 nerves in the tooth removed, so things are a little bit better. I am on painkillers and antibiotics and things are definitely going in the right direction so all is well.
I am on call all next week so my wife and I will be making the most of this weekend. We are out to dinner with friends tomorrow night at one of our favourite Thai restaurants, so I am looking forward to that! Been preparing everything for my upcoming writing days. Rachel is going off to Chewton Glen to see Michael Bublé so I am going to spend the entire time she is away writing. I have so many projects to work on at the moment: editing my police book, choosing poems for my poetry anthology and writing a new book! Was going to enter Nanowrimo this year but changed my mind: I’ve got so much on, I don’t think I could spare the time!
Just a quickie before I go: am sat typing this whilst listening to the sound of falling rain on a tin roof! Not live, I got it off You Tube. It goes on for 10 hours! There is no talking and no music, just pure rain sounds, and it sounds fantastic! Give it a try next time that you write!!
Anyhow, time to go! We’ll speak soon, sooner than 8 days time, that’s for sure!
Love & Light
