Oh Dear!

So, on 22nd July, I posted something on here apologizing for not having written anything for 8 days! I signed off on that piece of writing by saying that I wouldn’t leave it so long next time before I wrote again and yet, here I am! Even more time has passed this time around, and I don’t know why! If I’m honest, I think I’ve been too caught up with everything else that’s been going on in my life lately and, sadly, my writing has had to take a back burner.

As I write this, I have been up for about 38 hours! My mum had a fall at home and we had to go to A&E on Sunday night at about 11.15pm. Due to a severe lack of doctors, we didn’t get home until 5.30am this morning, and I had to be up at 6am, as I had to meet my tenant in order to collect my keys for our house as they moved out yesterday. We have decided to put the house on the market and were hoping to get away with painting just a couple of walls and the odd ceiling but, our local Estate Agent, who is a very good friend of mine, has advised us to paint the whole house in order to get the maximum amount of money for it as it is going to be our retirement fund! Talking of which: I am currently looking in to the possibility of retiring completely next year and becoming a full-time writer. As Rachel wants to continue in her current part-time role as a Pharmacy Dispensing Technician and a Receptionist, I would become a house-husband, running the home, cooking the dinner, doing the housework, ironing etc. and just doing everything else so that Rachel has nothing to worry about. I’m seriously considering it, but need to work out the finances first! The last thing I want is to get to my early seventies and realise that we have run out of money!! We shall see. I’ll do some number crunching and see what turns up!

Other than my mum’s fall and slicing the top of my finger open with a Stanley knife blade, my fault entirely, not much has been happening. Bob Dog is absolutely fine and provides endless hours of pleasure and fun. Rachel is, as always, perfect in every conceivable way and life just keeps getting better! I’m going to start to write much more now as I feel that I am wasting endless writing hours playing stupid 80’s computer games on my ZX Spectrum Emulator on my PC. Life is too precious and too short and I feel like I’m letting too many hours pass with nothing to show for them!!

I’m so, so pleased that I decided to get back to writing on here. I’ve found it really cathartic and I can’t wait to report in tomorrow and tell you all what I’ve managed to achieve!

Watch this space!!

Love & Light
