Yup! In the words of Boney M, ‘It’s a holi, holiday!’ We’re off on our second road trip this year! The house sitter is all booked and we are going to a remote woodland cabin in deepest, darkest Wales. Well, more like on the edge of Wales, but Wales none the less. We prefer remote cabins or shepherd huts, tree houses or anything else really, as long as it’s not a hotel. Don’t get me wrong, hotels, B&B’s etc, all have their place in the world but I am sick and tired of working hard to pay for a decent holiday, only to have it ruined because some numpty doesn’t know how to keep quiet when they are returning to their room at 2am! I have no issues with anyone partying or enjoying themselves but not at the expense of others. I know a lot of people will disagree with me which is why, instead of moaning about it every time it happens, we just take ourselves elsewhere and have a really lovely time on our own! With no-one around us, we get a decent night’s sleep and don’t get woken up by anything other than nature, which is perfect. I don’t drink so going to a pub is never a problem because I’m always happy to drive and we can leave whenever we want to, that’s if we want to be sociable. Rachel works much, much harder than I do and her job is very customer focused, so it’s always good for her to be able to get away and just relax. I get to spoil her rotten and make sure that she is well rested before we return! Bob Dog is coming with us also, so he will have an amazing time roaming around everywhere and enjoying life. We don’t even mind if the weather is bad because we both love being out in the elements. I will take wet, cold and windy over dry, warm and calm any day!!
