Hitting Rock Bottom

At about 1.30pm this afternoon, I hit rock bottom with regard to my food intake. There is no excuse for this happening, it is simply all down to the fact that I am a greedy, gutsy pig and do not know when to stop eating! Sadly, I have also been training 6 days a week for about the past 3 months and have been doing so well but, like a lot of people, I have a very sweet tooth and cannot seem to help myself! It is almost like self-sabotage.

One night a week my widowed mother comes to stay at our house overnight, so that she can have a change of scenery / routine now that dad has died. Last night was the night that she stayed over, and my wife cooked us all a lovely meal and, for dessert, she had bought a strawberry cheesecake, which she cut into 4. It was only a small cheesecake, so the portions weren’t too big but, as per usual, I decided to add custard with mine and so I had half a tin of the stuff with my cheesecake. When I went to bed later that night, I noted that there was still a piece left and decided that I would have that piece, and the other half of the tin of custard, when I came home from work the following day. When I got in from work today and opened the fridge, I noticed that the foil tray with the remaining piece of cheesecake inside, had gone. Disappointed that I couldn’t now have the last piece and wishing I had eaten it last night, I spooned the remaining custard from the tin into a bowl. I went across to the bin with the tin of custard and opened the lid and noticed, about halfway down the bin, some silver foil. Reaching into the bin, I pulled out the silver foil and there, mashed up inside it, was the remaining piece of cheesecake from the night before. Without hesitation, I took the foil over to the kitchen side, plonked the piece of cheesecake into the custard and promptly devoured the lot!! Afterwards, whilst washing up, I couldn’t believe that my food obsession had allowed me to go that far! There is no excuse whatsoever, it is pure gluttony!! There and then, I did one of 2 things. Firstly, I cut 2 pieces of plastic from the edge of the bin bag (That hadn’t been in the bin). I then put one of these pieces next to my computer, where I am typing this and, tomorrow, I am going to put the second piece in my work locker. Both of these pieces will be a constant reminder of the first, and last, time that I literally became a pig and ate food out of a bin. Secondly, starting tomorrow, I am putting myself on a very strict diet of 3 healthy meals a day, with no snacking in between! No protein powder, no creatine capsules. Just good, honest, healthy food, a healthy workout routine and a large slice of determination to lose a stone in a month! Wish me luck!!

I’ll keep you updated!
