Bob Dog

Although I mention him quite a lot, Bob Dog hasn’t had a post all of his own for quite some time. His epilepsy medication is working like a dream, when he isn’t hiding it under his tongue and spitting it out when we are not looking that is! A fortnight ago, I found a stack of 5 little white pills under one corner of his bed! Strangely enough, he hadn’t been ill at all, so we were none the wiser. He has to take 2 tablets a day so that represented two and a half days worth of medication! That aside, we took him for a long walk on a nearby common this morning and he absolutely loved it! For the first time in a very long time, he waded into the water himself and even went as deep as his stomach. He is literally on the cusp of going into deeper water and paddling, but there seems to be something holding him back slightly. Not sure what it is but I’m sure he will conquer it eventually and be able to relax totally in water, even when he is out of his depth. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

One thing I did notice whilst we were out on his walk this morning, is the number of people who are happy to let their dogs, when they are off the lead, approach other dogs who are on a lead! It’s not the done thing at all! If ever we see anyone approaching us with their dog on its lead, we always pick Bob up and carry him past. You have no idea why that other dog is on a lead, and you should always treat them with maximum caution!

I’ll leave you with the best pick-up-your-dog-poo-sign that I have ever seen. We saw it just as we were entering the common and it said, ‘Don’t be a turd. Pick up your dog’s!’
