This is a definite first for me! Normally, I wouldn’t dream of putting anything on here that wasn’t completed, but this poem has stuck in the back of my mind for so long!
This poem was first written about 15 years ago and I have never been able to finish it. I’m not trying to be all arty and claim that, ‘My muse has left me’ blah, blah, blah, but I genuinely haven’t been able to write anything else for it. I don’t know why. I have tried dozens of times to get this one finished but it doesn’t seem to happen! So, I’ll just put it up here as a one verse poem and, IF I ever write anything else for it, I will update it accordingly!
John the giraffe, did nothing but cry,
the day that his false teeth fell out.
And old Jock the crock, happy was not,
when elephant stood on his snout.
The cheetah fell lame, the lion went tame,
the monkey fell out of his tree.
Even Amanda, a most sensible panda,
got drunk drinking herbal leaf tea.
