Well, there’s a thing! So, I went to see my consultant today about my upcoming epigastric hernia surgery and it turns out, I don’t have one!! What I do have is known as diastasis recti. This mainly happens in pregnant women and older men. Basically, the abdominal muscles, pull apart and, when the abdomen muscles are tensed, a bulge appears. If I wish I can have a cosmetic procedure in later life to correct it but, as it stands at the moment, I don’t have to do anything at all and can carry on exactly as I am. However, I can no longer continue with my weight training, so I have to focus all of my attention on my cardio because, if I can shed some weight, the issue might repair itself and all will be well again! So, now that I have a great cardio machine and a brilliant diet that has been created for me by my personal trainer, watch this space!
Now for the, ‘Surprises’ part: Whilst I was discussing my diet plan with my personal trainer, she happened to mention a foodstuff that she called, ‘Key-noir’. I tried looking this up on Google but couldn’t find anything. When I queried it with her, she said it was a, ‘Rice substitute’, so I put into the search engine, ‘Rice substitute’ and it came back with something called, ‘Quinoa’. Now, I have always called this, ‘Kwin-no-ah’, so was surprised to hear it called, ‘Key-noir’. So, today was most definitely a day in my life that was most certainly full of surprises!!
Night, night.
