I first started this website as a way to get into the habit of writing constantly. I always used to tell people that I was, ‘Writing’ but, to be honest, that was just procrastination! I wanted to write, but so many things kept getting in the way. I have, over the past year or so, removed all of those things and now I find myself with the luxury of time to actually sit down and write!! On the subject of writing, I have written over 190 posts on here and have discussed all manner of subjects. I have shared my poetry, ideas, daily routine and many other things besides but, I have noticed of late that, sometimes, I feel that I am just writing things because I have to write a daily update, and that, for me, is not true writing. Therefore, I have decided to cut back, just a little, on the amount that I post on this website. I will still update it at least 3 times a week, but I will be more selective about not only the things I write, but the length of the pieces. I feel that sometimes, I write a few lines, and call it an update. To me, that’s like getting a meet and greet with your favourite celebrity and have them shake your hand and walk away, you would feel like you had been short-changed and that’s something that I never, ever want to do! My writing means a lot to me and if just one person looks on this website and reads just one article, then I will be happy. I have not started this whole writing website for fame or notoriety, it is purely a vehicle for me to practice my writing and maybe get some feedback on the things that I write, hence the comments section. Just writing about this whole subject feels more natural to me. These words have just flowed because I genuinely feel that I have something to say and I’m not just writing for the sake of it! I would much rather write 3 good pieces a week than 7 average / poor pieces, just to make content. Quality not quantity, if you will. So, with all that said, I’m going to take a couple of days away from this site, and I’ll be back on Monday with, hopefully, something worth saying. No more of that, ‘Just a quick update’ nonsense. You deserve better than that and, for me, it’s just lazy and that’s not fair!
