We were up bright and early this morning because Rachel needed her nails done and I had to be over at my mother’s house to help my brother put up her fence. I took Bob Dog with me so that he could run around in mum’s garden, as he just loves being outside, especially on a gloriously sunny day like today! I dropped Rachel off in town and then drove to mum’s where I had a cup of tea before my brother arrived. Once he had unloaded all we needed, we set about putting extra pieces of wood on the side of the fence panels, so that they would fit in between the posts. Unfortunately, the, ‘Professional’ company that put the fence up, had put 2 of the posts up incorrectly and the gap between them was wider at the top than the bottom! After much gluing, screwing and sawing, we had a fence panel that tapered away to virtually nothing from top to bottom that was a lovely snug fit. The whole operation took just over 3 hours and we were kept going by Rachel who kept us supplied with an assortment of drinks. After the fence was sorted, we went home and I cut the grass while Rachel tidied the house and made lunch. After lunch, hanging basket brackets were put up to hang the baskets we had bought from our local nursery on the way home from mum’s. Once they were up and hanging, I then put a solar powered PIR light out the front of the house as we had a 4am visitor last week! It may have been someone a bit lost, but they walked down the path we share with our neighbour, saw both Ring doorbells were working and then turned around and walked off, without doing anything! Although the Ring cameras are good, I wanted something to light the path up like Christmas Day!! Fortunately they have not returned but, if they do, we will be ready for them! We have now both had showers and are chilling whilst waiting for the taxi to pick us, our neighbours and another couple further down the close up, to take us to a lovely, local, Indian restaurant. The chicken Jalfrezi or Lamb Bhuna sound good! I’m starving!!
