I have suffered with hay fever for my entire life! When I was very young, I used to suffer with it so badly that my eyes used to swell and close completely. Often, I had to be guided home by my friends because I, literally, couldn’t see a thing! When I got to junior school I regularly used Betnasol eye drops to try and keep it at bay but they never really did much. By the time I was in my late teens, early twenties, I was having a Kennalog steroid injection into my arse, which worked a treat. It wasn’t until I went to see another Dr. after mine was struck off, that I was informed that not only was I being given 4 times the maximum dose every year, but I was supposed to have every 3rd year off. I think I had the Kennalog injections for the best part of 9 years!! Then, out of nowhere, my hay fever stopped completely! Suddenly, I could sniff flowers, walk past cut grass, anything. You name it and I could do it. It was amazing! Then, about a week ago, my hay fever came roaring back into my life! I suffer once more with very itchy and sore eyes, a blocked nose, constant sneezing and the feeling that there is a large weight pressing on the top of my head all the time! I am currently taking any hay fever medication that I can find but don’t think that any of it is really touching my problem. It looks as though I’m going to be spending an awful lot of this Summer in a darkened room, with all the windows shut. Ho hum! At least I’m healthy and still alive and kicking!
