I absolutely loved being at infant school! It was about playing, 1/3 pint bottles of milk, stories and nap time. I didn’t want to go up to the junior school which was about writing, reading, rules and bigger kids! This was a poem that I wrote much later on in life about my feelings at the time (probably).
I don’t want to go to big school!
Can’t I just stay here?
We can lie about my Birthday,
and I’ll do another year.
I’m not ready for the big school!
Growing up’s a dirty trick.
Can’t I stay an infant:
Happy, cute and thick.
