As some of you know, I went away on Friday morning for a couple of days R & R. I went to deepest, darkest Dorset with Rachel, Bob, a couple of friends and their 2 beagles. We stayed in a couple of cabins next door to one another that were only a 10 minute walk from Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa.
When Rachel and I arrived, we had lunch at The Walkford pub and then took a walk to our accommodation. We were met by our very friendly host and, once our friends arrived, Rachel cooked a lovely spaghetti bolognaise and we spent the evening chatting and drinking late into the evening.
The following day, we got up and had bacon rolls before heading off to Highcliffe Beach where we walked along the sand toward the Beachcomber Café. Unfortunately, due to that ever increasing threat of erosion, a major part of the cliff had fallen away and there were signs all over the place warning us not to proceed any further! Sadly, the only options to get to the café were to either ignore the signs and risk our lives or, walk all the way back to Highcliffe and then walk to the café again, along the main road. Deciding that neither were viable, we made our way back to the café at Highcliffe and had a sausage roll and an ice cream! Once that was all finished, we headed back to our cabins where our friends prepared a lovely Thai meal which we teamed up with lots of drink, non-alcoholic for me, before retiring to bed, absolutely exhausted!
This morning, we got up relatively early and, after a coffee with our friends, we headed home whilst they went on somewhere else for the day.
All in all we had an absolutely amazing time with great company, and we will definitely be going back!
That’s all for now! Enjoy whatever you’re doing.
Love & Light
