I hate queueing with a passion! However, what I hate even more is people that try and push in! They are probably the type of people who drive as far as they can along a closed lane of a motorway, before pulling over into the lane that everyone else pulled into about 3 miles ago!! Irritating beyond belief.
Whilst in a queue one day, I started to write a poem about such people and finished it before I’d reached the checkout!
Anyway, here it is!
There’s no white stick or guide dog,
so, I’m guessing, you can see,
that I was here before you,
and the queue starts behind me!
You’ve not been on the big screen,
I’ve not seen you on T.V,
therefore, I cannot comprehend,
why you’d push in front of me.
I know you’re not a royal,
worshipped Guru or a God.
I don’t think that Holy cherubs,
have thrown petals where you’ve trod.
You seem to me, quite normal,
you’re as plain as plain can be,
but, even if I’m incorrect,
the queue still starts with me!
